Welcome to Teachitworld, English Language Teaching resources online

Summer school time and the living is not so easy for those of us suddenly confronted with large groups of teenagers hoping to be entertained.

We've put together below a selection from our Teenagers resource library – materials that involve serious fun as well as serious learning, on topics that are relevant and motivating to 13 to 18 year-olds.

Our current favourite resource

Avoiding 'nice'

An essential writing resource for students of all ages. Focuses on how alternatives to 'nice' can collocate. Students then write a postcard about their 'nice' holiday.

Top 5 resources

  1. Me, myself & I A first lesson activity where students learn about each others' friends and family, memories and ambitions ... A2/B1/B2
  2. Daily life collocations A teenager's typical day in matchable cards or interactive matching whizzies. A great jumping-off point for tense revision or diary writing tasks. A2/B1.
  3. You can't stop the music Everyone will have something to say in this engaging board game. B1/B2.
  4. Fast Muck rat o'burgers Guaranteed to raise a laugh or a shudder of disgust! Students study, imitate and respond to a hilarious letter of complaint about the fast food joint from hell. B2/C1/C2.
  5. Whodunit? A whole-class murder mystery with lots of speaking and moving around. Police officers will have fun guarding prisoners and removing persons in contempt of court. Ideal for large classes (12 or more) with a range of personalities and abilties. C1/C2.
