Promethean Flipchart resources

In the spirit of interactivity, we’ve spent the warmer months brushing up our knowledge of Promethean software and searching Teachitworld’s libraries for resources ripe for conversion into IWB wonders.

After a lot of nurturing, the results have at last borne fruit. We've gathered together here a collection of exciting resources that explore the interactive possibilities of the Promethean board and software. Learners select the correct spelling among words which sound the same but are spelt differently and reveal the correct answers using an interactive magnifying glass. A2

They can also draw their own or do the interactive Flipchart version where they drag the words into the correct circles, bedroom, kitchen or both. A2 | B1 | B2

254.0 k 1,916.9 k 271.0 k Flat puzzle (03/02/2009) Related resources: Reading | Speaking | Grammar | Adjectives and adverbs (intermediate) Students read five people's descriptions of their homes and match the descriptions to the plans of their flats. They can then describe and draw their own homes. This resource can be used to work on intensifiers such as 'really', 'very' and 'quite'. And there's a lovely interactive American English version (Promethean Flipchart). B1

(15/08/2008) Related resources: Grammar | Determiners (basic) These activities are designed to present and practise there is/are and some/any with realistic communicative activities. They can also be used for review. Locations referred to include: hotels, rooms, and cities. The interactive version (Promethean Flipchart) is in two parts: 1 affirmative; 2 negative and interrogative. A1 | A2

(24/04/2008) Related resources: Grammar | Determiners (intermediate) A lively and systematic presentation of the differences between the determiners all, both, every, each, none, neither with structured practice. Students complete descriptions of a picture and make dialogues about sports clothes shopping. There is a whizzy version of task 1 (T/F). B1 | B2

Particularly useful for PET and FCE. The images will benefit from colour printing, but can also be shown using PowerPoint. The interactive Promethean Flipchart version has some lovely graphics too. Warning, the file is large and takes a bit of time to download. Either print out the images in colour or show the PowerPoint slides provided. There are interactive versions of tasks 5 and 7 (Syntex and Magnet) and of the whole lesson (Promethean Flipchart). B2

The Promethean Flipchart resource is an interactive American adaptation. B1
